As temperatures cool and storms continue to ravage Britain, many homeowners will be switching on their heating to warm up.
However, as the cost of living crisis continues, many people are looking for ways to save money on their heating bills.
Rather than making changes to the radiators themselves to save money, many homeowners don’t realise that some of the most effective changes can be made to their boilers.
With this in mind, Checkatrade, the home of quality trades, has shared how Britons can save money on their energy bills this winter by adjusting their boilers.
Daniel Khanlarpour, also known as the Gas Guru, is a gas safe engineer who has been a member of Checkatrade for the past four years.

Mr Khanlarpour said one of the “most common” energy-saving adjustments homeowners can make is to their boilers.
Homeowners can turn down the flow temperature to their radiators using controls on the boiler.
He explained: “The top tip for saving money and energy this winter is to turn down the flow temperature of the radiators using the control on the front of your boiler to as low as you can comfortably live with.

He said: “As long as your flow temperature is low enough to still comfortably heat your home, and you have a separate room thermostat to prevent the boiler running constantly once the home has reached temperature you should be able to maintain a comfortable level of warmth.”
A British Gas engineer also shared five radiator hacks to cut heating bills.
The engineer suggested putting foil behind radiators, bleeding radiators, repositioning furniture, installing TRVs and not heating up all the rooms in a property.
