FORTNITE is one of the most popular games in the world, and it\u2019s so successful that people didn\u2019t think it could get any better.<\/p>\n

However, the latest update appears to have proven people wrong, as the free-to-play battle royale has reached new heights.<\/p>\n

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 5 took the game back to basics, bringing back the original map from Chapter 1.<\/p>\n

Old weapons, skins, and vehicles returned, and the season will change every week.<\/p>\n

It seems that this nostalgic throwback struck a chord with fans, as more people got in the game than ever before.<\/p>\n

Almost 45million players jumped in for a match on the day of the new season\u2019s launch, which is an all-time peak for the game.<\/p>\n

Together they played 102million hours worth of Fortnite, meaning the average person played for over two hours.<\/p>\n

Fortnite took to Twitter to write: \u201cWay to start things off with a big bang! We\u2019re blown away by the response to Fortnite OG.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cYesterday was the biggest day in Fortnite\u2019s history with over 44.7 MILLION players jumping in and 102 MILLION hours of play.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo all Fortnite players, OG and new, THANK YOU!\u201d<\/p>\n

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 5 will continue on until the start of December, so there is still some time to enjoy the game\u2019s original map.<\/p>\n

However, each week will change to a different season from Chapter 1, changing up the map and adding new weapons and items.<\/p>\n
