A FAMILY-run car dealership is getting a huge makeover after it was taken over by a dealer with a 95-year history.<\/p>\n

Holden Group has snapped up Cecil & Larter, a used Volvo dealership in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

All of Cecil & Larter's staff will carry on working at the rebranded Holden Group Bury St Edmunds.<\/p>\n

Company boss Tim Holden told Car Dealer: "Our family business is 95 years old, dating back to 1928 when my grandfather was first employed as an apprentice.<\/p>\n

"Cecil & Larter is another local family business with a long history, having opened in 1927.<\/p>\n

"With an emphasis on family values and delivering quality service, the business is an excellent fit for us.<\/p>\n

Holden Group now runs three Volvo dealerships across East Anglia, employing 220 people.<\/p>\n

The Bury St Edmunds branch will also continue to offer authorised Seat and Cupra repairs.<\/p>\n

Bosses also plan to move Holden Group's Hylton Gott Volvo dealership into a sprawling multi-million pound showroom in King's Lynn.<\/p>\n

Holden Group's Martyn Webb said: "We will be investing a significant amount in a new facility for our Hylton Gott business in Kings Lynn.<\/p>\n

"The 1.2 acre site will incorporate the Volvo Retail Experience corporate identity throughout.<\/p>\n

"It will feature a welcoming customer showroom, hospitality area, dedicated handover bay and modern state-of-the-art workshop where customers can view their car being serviced."<\/p>\n
