Britons of state pension age who need to apply for the Winter Fuel Payment can do so from this week.<\/p>\n
People will be able to begin a claim over the phone or by post from Wednesday, October 4. Eligible people will get a payment between \u00a3250 and \u00a3600. This includes an extra pensioner cost of living payment of between \u00a3150 and \u00a3300 similar to last winter\u2019s scheme.<\/p>\n
The money will be paid from November to January. Most of those who have received the payment previously will get the funds again automatically.<\/p>\n
The DWP is sending out letters this month to eligible people outlining how much they will be paid.<\/p>\n
The deadline for to make a claim for winter 2023 to 2024 is March 31, 2024. Below are the full details about how much a person will get depending on their situation and who needs to claim.<\/p>\n
