WHATSAPP users can now take part in video calls with up to eight people at once.
The Facebook-owned chat app previously only let four people chat through their cameras at once – yourself plus three others.
However, a new update rolled out this week has doubled the maximum capacity of calls, either through video or voice conversations.
The US firm said the feature had been developed with "lower-end devices and slow network conditions" in mind.
It comes as millions of people living in lockdown turn to online platforms to host meetings and social gatherings.
WhatsApp said the global health crisis "has meant that many of us are isolated from friends and family".
The company added that it had seen "people all over the world turning to voice and video calling on WhatsApp more than ever before".
Other chat services already allow large groups of people to join video calls – Apple's FaceTime, for instance, lets up to 32 people chat at once.
Video conferencing app Zoom lets you video-conference with hundreds of people at a time.
WhatsApp currently serves more than 2billion users around the world.
The Facebook-owned chat app likely added the new feature to prevent users flooding away to rival apps.
To get your hands on the feature, make sure you have the latest version of WhatsApp.
If you have an iPhone, head to the App Store and tap updates. Scroll down to WhatsApp and tap the update button next to it.
On Android, go to the Play Store and hit the menu button. Under My apps and games, tap update next to WhatsApp Messenger.
To make a group call, launch WhatsApp and tap the Calls tab at the bottom of the screen.
Hit the Call icon in the top-right corner, select "New Group Call" and then add up to seven people from your contacts list.
Facebook announced its plan to expand WhatsApp video call limits last week.
“As before, these calls are secured with end-to-end encryption," the firm said.
“So no one else can view or listen to your private conversation, not even WhatsApp.”
Facebook also announced a brand new feature called Messenger Rooms.
This is a new way to make large group video calls through Facebook, with up to 50 people per session.
Anyone can join your Messenger Room, including people who don’t even have a Facebook account.
And Facebook is adding a way for people to create and join rooms from Instagram and WhatsApp too.
