Lauren, from Essex, showcases her renovation on her Instagram account @the_cubbyhole. The interiors expert runs an online shop and a bespoke art work service.
She discussed her kitchen renovation, which saw her transform a grey and white kitchen into a sage and white space with a breakfast bar and a farmhouse sink.
Lauren said the kitchen counters were the biggest bargain of her entire renovation.
“Our amazing kitchen worktops were our biggest bargain,” she told Express.co.uk.
The couple used Prestige Granite & Quartz worktops, a Brentwood-based company, use natural stone or quartz for their counters.
They chose white counters to match their white cupboard and sage green counters and drawers.
Lauren gave her advice to creating your dream kitchen to Express.co.uk.
She highly recommended making savings on your worktops.
The renovator said: “My advice to anyone thinking of doing a kitchen renovation would be, to shop around.
“Even if you use a big known brand for your cupboards and appliances.
“When it comes to worktops, they add a huge mark up on quartz and granite worktops.
“Cut out the middle man and go straight to the supplier.

“We ended up saving almost £3,000 and had the most amazing experience with a fantastic small and independent business.”
Despite this great saving, the total spend on the kitchen turned out to be the couple’s biggest spend.
However, Lauren was keen to make the space everything she hoped it would be.
The interiors expert said: “The biggest splurge was in fact our kitchen.
“We were most excited about planning and designing our kitchen so we went totally for what we wanted, without compromising on the quality.
“It was 100 percent worth it because the end result is everything we could have ever wanted and dreamed of.
“We have a kitchen to be proud of and I get so many complements on it.”
Another stunning DIY transformation showed how paint can be used to create a dream space.
One DIY enthusiast detailed how the “perfect shade” for her living room turned her blank canvas into a stunning modern space.
Rosie Stanton chose a “daring” blue shade for her living room.
“We wanted to be daring with the colour as we had moved from a flat that was painted in a light grey throughout, so we wanted to be more adventurous this time around,” Rosie said.
“The walls are painted in Paint and Paper Library in the colour Squid Ink.”
