Sony’s WH-1000XM3 headphones are £110 OFF – £120 cheaper than the XM4

AMAZON has knocked £110 off the cost of Sony’s WH-1000XM3 headphones in a time-limited deal.

With the new XM4 model now available, the massive deal means the XM3s shouldn’t be overlooked.

The trickily named WH-1000XM4 set is Sony’s latest and greatest wireless headphone.

Highly anticipated, the model builds upon one of the best sets of noise-cancelling headphones already available: Sony’s own XM3.

Evolution is key to the improvements of the latest model, but the WH-1000XM3 is still a worthy option.

Especially so at £110 off the usual price – and £120 cheaper than the latest model.

WH-1000XM4 vs WH-1000XM3

The difference between the two models is levels of tech and, based on the specs, Sony has focused on evolving what was already a strong combination of features.

While the XM4 shares the XM3’s 30-hour battery, and the XM3 is still a great performing and comfortable set, there are reasons some may want to spend more on the newer model.

Key is that the XM4 can connect to two devices at once, rather than the XM3’s single connection – handy if you want to connect two phones, or a phone and another device via Bluetooth.

The XM4 also includes intelligent improvements to the XM3’s fantastic active noise-cancelling and adaptive sound control, which already adjusts to the environment you’re in.

The XM4’s upgrade to this is that it ‘recognises’ favourite locations and tweaks settings to suit.

A new Sony audio chip also improves upscaling of audio and betters the XM3’s already much-loved sound quality.

Finally, Sony has included Speak to Chat to improve voice recognition technology – automatically lowering the volume when speaking – as well as improvements to voice-call quality.

For design, there’s not too much change. The XM4 is 1g lighter and has slightly larger earpads.

For some, such improvements might warrant pending £349 on a new pair of headphones.

For everyone else, saving £110 on the XM3 model might be the better option.
