Pornhub's 'Year in Review' reveals what XXX fans in US and UK love watching – with big surprises

PORNHUB has exposed what horny Americans and Brits have been looking for in the past year – and there's a new favourite in town.

Hentai porn is now the XXX site's most searched term globally, ranking number one in the US and number three in the UK.

The word is used to describe adult anime and manga materials, of which hundreds of thousands are hosted on the platform.

"Cartoons are more fantastical than regular porn," said Dr. Laurie Betito, director of Pornhub's Sexual Wellness Center.

"Because it’s not real, it can go further, with less constraints that reality offers.

"Hentai porn also tends to have more of a storyline and people seem to be more and more drawn to context."

But it's not all about fantasy, as it turns out many users have a romantic side too.

Searches containing ‘romance’ and ‘romantic’ more than doubled, while 'passionate' saw a 139% jump.

Romance comes in at number two, with group sex, fitness, swapping, challenge, transgender, goth, roommate and 'how to' also in the top ten.

The well-known adult platform revealed the trends in its annual Year In Review report.

Data for the past year shows that the UK is now the second biggest visitor to the site, overtaking Japan, while the US remains number one.

The average user from the UK spends about 9 minutes and 52 seconds on Pornhub, compared to 9 minutes and 44 seconds stateside.

Despite hentai's massive growth, searches for lesbian and milf remain in the top two for Brits.

But hentai is up in the top spot for Americans, followed by lesbian.

Among pornstars, Lana Rhoades was Pornhub’s most searched person, followed by Abella Danger who kept her place in second position.

In other news, Apple Music is taking on Spotify with a new half price plan with a twist.

Snapchat has revealed it has given away a whopping $250million (£189million) to its creators over the last year.

And people are being urged to look out for fake Omicron emails landing in inboxes in the coming days.
