Major brand to bring back popular motor – this time featuring smart touchscreen consoles and ultra padded seats | The Sun

A MAJOR car brand is bringing back a popular motor – this time featuring a smart touchscreen and extra-padded seats.

The industry giant renewed the model for a third generation which came with some swish upgrades.

Porsche announced the return of the Panamera on Friday, with three redesigned versions set to go on sale next year.

These are the standard sedan, the all-wheel-drive Panamera 4 and the Turbo-E Hybrid version

The brand has made some tweaks to the exterior, with a chunkier front end and new wheels.

But it's inside where the most radical changes have taken place.

The previous generation's traditional dashboard has been replaced with digital dials and a fully interactive touchscreen, also available on the passenger side as an optional extra.

This boasts features like adaptive cruise control and linking up with the MyPorsche app.

The system is also compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to meet all your infotainment needs.

You can even use your smartphone to park up in "certain "almost any" situation – and you don't even have to be in the car.

Aspects of the interior are borrowed from the company's flagship Taycan EV, with new foam padding boosting the comfort of the seats, which owners can choose to have upholstered in leather or other materials for an eco and vegan-friendly option.

The new Active Ride suspension also shifts the balance towards comfort without sacrificing performance.

Both petrol-powered models run on 348 horsepower turbocharged V6s and can hit 60mph from a standing start in just 4.7 seconds.

And the hybrid version boasts even more power, with a twin-turbo V8 assisted by an electric motor to lay down 670 horsepower.

However, one version of the car hasn't made the cut across the generation switch.

Porsche confirmed they would drop the Sport Turismo body after sales slowed in recent years.

Nonetheless, the company is excited for the model's future.

The announcement read: "Porsche revamps the Panamera: the third generation of the sporting luxury sedan is characterised by a wider range of digital features, a fresh and expressive design and a broader spectrum between dynamic performance and driving comfort.

"The profile is enhanced by a fundamentally modernised operating concept and plenty of innovative technology."

The model is now available to order, with the entry-level model costing £79,500, while the hybrid variant will start at £141,400.

It comes after The Sun exclusively revealed that thousands of learner drivers are cheating by paying stooges to sit their tests for them.
