Kensington Palace in the heart of the capital in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The palace is a popular visitor destination and is the official residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children. However, the palace used to be the home of Diana, the Princess of Wales.

Earlier today, a status of Princess Diana was unveiled in Kensington Palace’s redesigned Sunken Garden on what would have been her 60th birthday.

The garden was redesigned to add a number of Diana’s favourite flowers.

The stunning gardens, which were first designed back in 1908, have also been the location of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement back in 2017.

Kensington Palace has a rich history after being bought by King William and Queen Mary in 1689.

Since then, a plethora of different monarchs have called the palace their home.

Kate and William reside in apartment 1A which is said to have an impressive 20 rooms split up over four levels.

Photos of visits made by officials have revealed some insight into the stunning palatial rooms.

One of the rooms that has been snapped regularly is Prince William’s office.

The room includes a chest of drawers, a dark wood desk and a large, white ornate fireplace with a mirror hanging over it.

Kate’s office has also been photographed extensively.

The room is similar to her husband’s with a large wooden desk, a striped chair and lots of books lining her desk.

A cream sofa cam be glimpsed in the background along with a chestnut cabinet.

Back in 2016, Kate and William famously hosted former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle at their home.

The couples, and Prince Harry, were spotted socialising in Kate and William’s drawing room.

Like other rooms in the palace, the room is grand with luxurious soft furnishings and a neutral colour palette.

The former US President was seen sat on a cream trimmed sofa with his back pressed against a green chenille and floral embroidered cushions.

The room has floral rugs, green drapes and a dark teak sideboard.

Vases full of flowers and plants were also dotted around the room.

The room also has large floor to ceiling windows which allow natural light to flow into the room.
