I'm a motors expert… here's the best family cars you can buy for less than £5k | The Sun

A MOTORS expert has revealed the best family cars you can get for under £5,000.

Abigayle said all of them were “great cars” and still “some of the best ever”.

Taking to her popular TikTok page, where she is known as “Shetalkscars”, she gave details of her top five hatchbacks.

Up first was the Volkswagen Golf with the image showing a model advertised on Auto Trader for £4,750.

She said: “One of the best hatchbacks known to man.”

Abigayle added that the 2010 model shown had a 1.4litre petrol engine and was still “quite modern looking”.

She said: “I still think these cars are great on the road.”

Next was a BMW 1 Series which was advertised on the same used car site for £4,995.

Abigayle pointed out it was a 2011 model with a 2litre engine so warned “it might be a bit thirsty”.

Despite that she said: “What a car.”

Third to be shown off was a Volvo C30 for sale at £4,695.

Abigayle waded in immediately, asking: “Volvo, why did you stop making these?

“It’s just a really cool car.”

The make had a 1.6litre engine and 2010 plates.

An Audi A3 was shown next which Abigayle said was “another fantastic hatchback”.

The model for sale had a 1.6litre petrol engine and 2009 plates.

This one came, as Abigayle describes it, as having a “beautiful blue colour”.

The last car to be featured was a red Honda Civic which came with a price tag of £4,190.

“It still looks wicked,” according to the TikToker and she thought it looked particularly nice in red.

The 2010 car came with a 1.8litre petrol engine.

At the end, the motors expert said that all the cars featured were manual and so “well-priced in today’s market, in my opinion.”
