THE supermoon has arrived – here's what the celestial event means for you astrologically.
On June 14, at 7:52 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, the supermoon approached its closest point to our Earth.
What is a 'supermoon'?
A supermoon occurs "when a Full Moon coincides with the Moon's closest approach to Earth in its elliptical orbit, a point known as perigee," according to Nasa,
The event occurs once every 12 to 14 months – and when it does happen, the Moon appears larger and brighter.
Dubbed the "strawberry supermoon", this celestial occasion is named by the Algonquin Native American tribe in the northeastern U.S. and refers to the region's strawberry harvesting season.

Hollywood-based astrologer Renee Watt said that the event will bring an "abundance of optimism, joy, and luck to the table."
"Unfortunately, these vibes will also come with a bit of resistance from dreamy Neptune, as the sun and moon form a T-square with the ethereal planet," Watt added.
Truth and Clarity
Despite this, everyone can still make the most of this lunar event by looking inwards and focusing on one important concept: Truth.
"That’s the theme of this keeping-it-real, tell-it-like-it-is full moon," Elle's in-house astrologers, Ophira and Tali Edut, also known as the Astro Twins, write on their webpage.
"The Sagittarius is the zodiac’s most brutally honest sign and full moons always bring with it a big reveal."
For some, getting clarity and truth will require a bit of work, thanks to the climate Neptune is fostering.
"You’ll need to fight for your clarity. Luckily, a cheery outlook can help you overcome any cosmic slump that comes for you, so remember to hold on to your optimism, even if the atmosphere feels a bit bleak at times," Watt noted.
She added that the present energy is also expected to bring inspiration to many, though she cautioned, "it would be easy to get lost in a dream if you don’t bring logic and common sense into the mix."
Release what's not working
Full moons are also an optimal time to release fears, resentments, and things that no longer work for you, according to the Farmer's Almanac.
Experts from the periodical explained: "Cosmically speaking, the full Moon is the time of the month where energy peaks and then releases, like a 'cosmic sigh'."

"Because the full Moon is considered the 'energetic peak' of the month, it’s the perfect time to tap into its power and practice a little self-care."
"Whether it’s cleansing physically (tidying and decluttering in Marie Kondo style) or emotionally, letting go of negative thoughts, patterns, behaviors, and even relationships)."
