Cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, rose to fame on social media. The star has amassed more than four million followers on her Instagram page and helped thousands of people to adopt clever cleaning hacks.
Inspired by her methods, cleaning fans have established their own groups on social media to share a range of quick and easy techniques.
One online user sought advice on how to remove mould and mildew from a shower curtain.
Responding to the post, one person commented: “Dettol Mould and Mildew spray.”
A second group member advised: “Soak in sterilising fluid and then pop in the washing machine. Comes up brand new.”
A third person recommended putting the shower curtain in the washing machine to remove the mould.
A fourth person posted: “Astonish Mould and Mildew – brilliant stuff, disappeared in front of my eyes.”
Agreeing the product was an effective solution, another online user said: “I use that on so many things, it’s brilliant, even getting stains out of white clothing.”
One group member commented that the product had proven effective at removing mould from blinds.

Another recommendation involved soaking the shower curtain in a solution of bleach and water.
While one group member suggested applying white vinegar to tackle the mould.
Another online user recommended washing the shower curtain each week, before hanging it up to dry.

“Put it in the washing machine with a towel. The towel rubs it clean,” offered another.
While one group member suggested putting the shower curtain in the washing machine slightly less frequently – every fortnight – and stated it “keeps them perfect”.
One online user advised applying Astonish Mould and Mildue spray, before leaving the product on the curtain for 10 minutes and then putting the curtain in the washing machine.
“That’s what I do to, works a treat,” said another.
While one person recommended pulling the curtain across to dry after each use to prevent the build-up of mould.
“I soak mine in the bath with some bleach then wash off in washing machine, comes up like new,” said another group member.
One person posted: “Spray it with Cillit Bang with bleach after each shower.”
