Cleaning star Mrs Hinch, whose full name is Sophie Hinchliffe, became popular the began sharing her cleaning tips and recommendations on social media and TV. The cleaning influencer has managed to gain over 4.2 million followers on Instagram and has also authored several books. Now, fans of hers have created their own social media groups dedicated to cleaning and tidying tips.

On one such group, a user asked Mrs Hinch fans how to clean an air fryer.

Facebook user Julia Harris asked fellow users: “Has anyone got any tips or an easy way of cleaning an air fryer?

“I really don’t want to be scrubbing it again. Thank you in advance.”

The most popular response was to use washing up liquid in the air fryer.

Amy Elizabeth wrote: “Washing up liquid, bit of water and turn on for five minutes.”

Becky Poole said: “If you look on TikTok, there’s videos of people cleaning theirs and they use Fairy liquid, water and then turn it on.”

Julia Patrick replied: “That bottom bit should come out with washing up liquid.”

Tracey White said: “Take the bottom tray out and soak in washing up liquid and hot water.”

Sainsbury’s Washing Up Liquid Cherry can be bought for 50p.

ASDA Zesty Lemon Washing Up Liquid can be bought for 37p.

Surcare Washing up Liquid can be purchased from Wilko for £1.

Other suggestions from Mrs Hinch fans included using baking soda and white vinegar, putting parts of the air fryer in the dishwasher, using Elbow Grease and removing the bottom of the air fryer to clean it.

“Leave for half an hour then use a sponge scrubber.”

Kat Lizarie replied: “I take that whole basket and bottom and put it in water to soak then scrub.

“Dry upside down slits and all it will dry.”

Fiona Jane agreed and wrote: “That bottom bit actually comes out, I have the same one.”

Lisa Hague said: “The tray pulls out.”
