The homeowner explained pollen had left marks on her light brown carpet.

While Britons can try and remove marks with expensive cleaning products, these may not be necessary.

Commenting on the post, a number of Mrs Hinch fans suggested using Sellotape to fix the problem.

One wrote: “Sellotape, don’t rub it or you will never get it out.”

Another added: “Sellotape to get the pollen up. If it’s lily pollen don’t get it wet. If it’s too late, try white vinegar.”

“Lift as much as possible with Sellotape,” a third commented.

One Facebook user said: “Lift it with Sellotape.”
