Mrs Hinch, real name Sophie Hinchcliffe, is a social media sensation best known for her easy cleaning hacks.
Many Facebook pages have been created where homeowners will share tips and ask for advice.
Posting in a Mrs Hinch Facebook group, one woman shared pictures of a bright blue stain on a beige carpet.
She wrote: “Argh, help! Nail varnish on my carpet thanks to my four-year-old.
“I’ve tried hairspray and a toothbrush which has worked a bit. Any other tips?”
There are many carpet cleaning products available to buy in supermarkets.
However, homeowners eagerly shared their favourite DIY hacks.

Commenting on the post, a number of people explained using nail polish remover would lift the stain.
One wrote: “Nail varnish remover – soak it in and pat it with cotton wool or kitchen roll. It’s worked for me before.”
“Try nail polish remover on an inconspicuous area and if it’s ok use that on it,” another suggested.
A third added: “Tried and tested. Cotton rounds and or kitchen towel and nail varnish remover.
“Acetone kind will work quicker. Beware it took a good hour of rubbing. Soak for a few minutes and press and rub.”
One explained: “Nail varnish remover with acetone in it.”
Other Facebook users also commented to say they managed to achieve results with nail polish remover.
