Banker Will Osborne had some time on his hands during lockdown.
When his son, New York restaurateur Mac Osborne, of Colonial Verde in Brooklyn, came to visit, he stayed for quarantine.
Together, they launched the non-profit Meals for Heroes to feed first responders.
Osborne and his wife, Karen Hall Bechtel, an advisor at the Carlyle Group, the global investment firm, also had time to plunk down $28.9 million on a new Miami mansion: 4 Tahiti Beach Island Road.
So what do you get for that kind of money?
The 10-bedroom, 10-bathroom, three-story waterfront home is a massive 21,235 square feet and boasts its own private beach.
Inside, there’s a home theater, two kitchens, a “secret passageway” between bedrooms (both cool and creepy), an elevator and a 450-bottle wine tasting room.
There’s also a gym with a spa, sauna, steam and massage rooms.
The home, built in 2009 and renovated in 2016, was designed by architect Ramon Pacheco.
Details include coffered ceilings, white oak floors, fireplaces and outdoor terraces.
The acreage may be small at 1.42 acres, but the gated community is small — under 30 homes, with neighbors including NBA star Ray Allen and baseball player Manny Machado.
The listing broker was Chad Carroll, of Compass; the buyers were repped by Constantin Gorges, also of Compass.
