What is the Turner & Hooch series about?

Although the reboot has a similar premise to the 1989 comedy feature, Josh Peck will play a U.S. marshal, rather than a police detective like his on-screen father, Tom Hanks. (Photo: Disney+)

Josh Peck will star as Turner’s son in this buddy cop comedy series, which was filmed with five different French Mastiffs playing Hooch, the dog that Peck’s character inherits from his late father. The new series will also star Lyndsy Fonseca as Laura Turner, Scott’s sister, as well as Carra Patterson as Jessica Baxter, Venessa Lengies as Eric Mouniere, Brandon Jay McClaren as Xavier Wilson, and Anthony Ruivivar as Chief James Mendez, all of whom are members of the team of U.S. Marshalls that Scott works with. Throughout the series, Scott and his team come to know and love Hooch as they work together to solve crimes.

Turner & Hooch was created and written by Matt Nix, and produced in concert with 20th Television and ACB Signature. In the Disney Special Look at the series, you can see the set and props for the show through the eyes of one of the dogs playing Hooch.
